Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Livermore Residents Directory. By using the reference, you accept the terms below. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site and its linked resources.

1. What the Reference Is

Livermore Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical collections connected with Livermore, Alameda County, and California. It hosts no government records and is not affiliated with any office, court, library, agency, or custodian. Links and descriptions are informational, and the named custodian controls the underlying record.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the site only for lawful purposes and respect the limits attached to each source. You may not use the reference or anything reached through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a person.
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order.
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or another unlawful act.
  • Make decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the pages at scale.
  • Interfere with the site’s operation, security, or linked service.

3. No Consumer Reports

This reference is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Nothing on these pages, and nothing returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. It may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. Outside Services

County, city, state, court, library, archive, and sponsored-search services have their own terms, privacy rules, fees, and availability. Livermore Residents Directory does not control those services and is not responsible for their content, pricing, results, or data practices. A link is not an endorsement or guarantee.

5. No Warranty

The reference is provided “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that a page, link, portal, fee, coverage date, or record description is complete, accurate, current, or available at a particular moment. Verify a record and its access rules with the custodian before relying on it.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of this site or a linked resource, including an action taken from a record found through the reference.

7. Your Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify the operators from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that results from your misuse of the reference or violation of these terms.

8. Text and Design Rights

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short excerpt with attribution is welcome. Republishing full pages or systematically copying the content is not permitted without written permission.

9. Term Changes

These terms may be revised by posting an updated version here. Continued use after the new version appears means that you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.

10. Access Restrictions

The operators may block or limit access for a user who violates these terms, abuses the site, attacks its security, or interferes with another person’s lawful use. Access may be restricted without advance notice.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Public-records references are informed by the California Public Records Act, Government Code §7920.000 et seq., including its rules for requests, agency determinations, inspection, and copy charges. California consumer privacy rights are addressed in Civil Code §1798.100 et seq., as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. Those statutes do not make this private reference a custodian of the records described on its pages.

12. Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force to the extent allowed by law.

13. Questions
